Relocation Feasibility Services
Phase 1: Initiating the Dialogue
The first step in any relocation analysis involves open communication with management to establish the rationale behind the potential relocation and identify the business units involved. This dialogue lays the groundwork for a base case comparison and creates a snapshot of the current situation to ensure a solid benchmark in evaluating relocation scenarios.
These discussions establish key concerns and timelines that need to be assessed during our study. Additionally, clear division and assignment of tasks and responsibilities will be established to ensure a smooth and efficient analysis process.
Phase 2: Assessment Study
A comprehensive relocation impact analysis will be conducted, which will delve into several critical areas that include, but are not limited to, the following items depending on the industry and community involved:
- Human Resources: Potential workforce disruption will be evaluated, as well as training needs and other crucial items, such as relocation assistance.
- Economic Impact: Potential cost savings and other financial benefits, as well as expected penalties, are considered when conducting studies. This portion of the analysis also includes both non-recurring and recurring operating expenditures involved in relocation.
- Real Estate: The availability and cost of suitable locations at the new destination will be assessed.
- Qualitative Advantages: We will assess intangible benefits, such as enhanced company branding, as well as important impacts on relocation, such as improved air service, customer proximity, and access to the talent pool, among others.
- Other Considerations: Depending on the industry or community, we will also consider other factors, such as logistics, commute impacts, attrition impacts, and more.
